The Rockmart Downtown Development Authority last week welcomed another new business to town after they opened earlier this summer.
The official ribbon cutting was held on Monday, August 5 with F.K. Jones Funeral Home in Rockmart, located on East Elm Street near the corner with South Marble Street.
The funeral home moved into Polk County earlier this year and opened its doors to the public in late June.
The Rome-based F.K. Jones Funeral Home has been serving families in Polk County and surrounding areas for several years, and took the opportunity to expand their operations to better reach out to those have sought their services in the past, but found they were too far to travel.
F.K. Jones moved into the former home of Freeman Harris Funeral Home in Rockmart.
Local officials, DDA members, friends and family gathered for the ribbon cutting last week to celebrate the latest move – including members of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home staff, who are located on West Elm Street just down the road.
