Ms. Faye Earlene Shaw Cornelius, 74, of Cedartown, Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, 12 August 2023, at her home in the presence of her family. Faye lost her battle with Heart Disease but won eternal life with Christ.
Faye was born on 4 October 1948 in Cave Spring, Ga., to the late Coy Shaw and Mary Angel Shaw. Faye retired from AT&T in Cedartown, Ga., and after retirement, she enjoyed her time with family and friends.
Faye is preceded by her sister and brother-in-law, Dave and Mary Shaw Roberson of Cedartown, Ga.
Faye is survived by her daughters Leigh Cornelius Drewry (Russell) of Ocean Springs, MS., and Anna Cornelius Arp (Clay) of Bremen, GA.; former husband and friend Ray Cornelius of Birmingham, AL.; grandchildren Ally Arp, Clayton Arp, Anna-Claire Arp, Mattie Claire Drewry, and Tucker Drewry; nephews Mike Roberson (Debbie) and Greg Roberson (Angie); niece Amy Grindstaff (Wesley), all of Cedartown, GA.
Faye is also survived by great nephews and nieces; Matt Roberson (Marine), Beth Forrister (Matt), Brett Roberson (Lacee), Ryan McLendon (Eric), Mark Roberson (Carley), Brittney Parker (Terry), Hayden Roberson (Mary), Tori Roberson (Levi), David Grindstaff (Lauren) and April Greenway (Brandon).
The family will receive friends Monday, 14 August 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Litesey Funeral Home in Cedartown, Ga. She will lie in state at Rehoboth Baptist Church beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, 15 August 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Cave Spring, Ga. Pastor Dale Byars will be officiating the service, with Blake Terry as the speaker and Clay Arp delivering the eulogy. The interment will be held at Rehoboth Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Matt Roberson, Brett Roberson, Hayden Roberson, David Grindstaff, Wade Jones, and Matt Moore.
The following will be serving as honorary pallbearers: Hannah Nichols, Genelle Johnson, Sue McWhorter, Toby Dyer, Dan Jones, Preston Sewell, Gary Jones, and Rydell Palmer.
