A new local business celebrated their membership with the chamber and joining the community to start off the month of February.

Communication at Heart owner Nikki Sumner and family, friends and local officials gathered with the Chamber of Commerce on Friday, February 2 to celebrate a a ribbon cutting ceremony at her new location in Cedartown.

Located at 504 N. Main St., Cedartown, Communication at Heart was born of a desire in 2023 for Sumner to provide therapy services with a personal connection to children in Polk County and the surrounding area.

The Friday event marked new beginnings for Sumner, a graduate from Pepperell High School who stayed in the area for her education at Georgia Highlands and the University of West Georgia.

During the past years, Sumner worked in public schools, private schools, outpatient clinics and even at hospitals.

Communication at Heart provides a variety of therapy services for youth of various ages, focusing on speech, language, and feeding therapy that has been informed not just by Sumner’s extensive education and experience, but also her own personal experience.
