Mr. Chesley Howell Chambers, Jr., age 78 of Cedartown, GA transitioned to his heavenly home on December 27, 2021.

Chesley was born August 12, 1943, at McCall Hospital in Rome to the late Chesley “Hal” Chambers, Sr., and Agnes Lucille Terry Chambers.

He served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam Era from 1967-1969. Chelsea retired from General Electric in Rome and Towers Management in 2011.

Chesley loved spending time with his family, his grandkids, and great-grandkids. You could find him most mornings at Croker’s Hardware drinking coffee.

Chelsea loved talking to people. He attended the First Baptist Church of Cedartown.

Chesley is preceded in death by his parents, sister Wanda Gail Chambers, and Patricia Dianne Keith, brother Edward Talmadge Chambers, and nephews Billy Wayne Chambers, Jr. and Jimmy “Jimbo” Chambers, Jr. sisters-in-law Chelma Bell, Johnnie Dover, Imogene Chambers, and brothers-in-law Scott Duke and Michael Ollis.

Chesley is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Mae Bell Chambers, who he lovingly called “Doll”. He had one daughter and son-in-law, Lucinda and Gregg Mason, a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Chesley “Trey” Chambers, III and Michelle. His grandchildren, Anna Mason-Sanders and her husband, Zachary, Austin Mason, Caleb Chambers, and Caitlynn. Great grand girls Marilynn “Mari Belle” Mason and Magnolia Sanders. His brothers, Jimmy Chambers, Rev. Billy Chambers & Dyane, and Douglas Chambers. His sisters Janice Duke and Nancy Ollis, and sister-in-law Gail Chambers.

The family will receive friends on December 29, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at the First Baptist Church of Cedartown with a service being held the following day December 30, 2021 at 3:00 pm.

There will be an additional visitation before the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Officiating the service will be Rev. Wayne Benefield, Dr. Chesley “Trey” Chambers, Dr. Billy Chambers, Rev. Caleb Chambers, Rev. Jason Stringer, and Rev. Jason Ollis. Austin Mason, Gregg Mason, and James Bell will also be speaking during the service.

Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are Zachary Sanders, Zach Weaver, Scotty Tillery, Scotty Duke, Tony Montgomery, Todd Williams, John Kelly, and Wayne Padgett. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Marc Wall, Claude & Evelyn Brown, Earl & Tammy Kinne, Crocker Hardware Coffee Crew, Zacary Weaver, and Hunter Chambers.

The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Chesley Chambers.
