Donations being accepted for Back-to-School efforts by the PD and Public Works

What is the celebration of our nation’s independence without some of the familiar items in life: fireworks, flags and banners, cookouts with family that must have hot dogs.

Officials from the City of Aragon are hoping that at least they can cover the last part, and are asking for the public to make donations ahead of events later this summer for local youth.

Officers from the Aragon Police Department and Public Works officials will be out on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. provide hot dogs for the community free of charge at Pittman Field. During the event, they are asking participants to bring school supplies for a back to school event later this summer.

They are additionally raising funds to purchase school supplies and to help out with the APD and Public Works’ Christmas fund, which during the annual holiday event brings in Santa Claus and gives out toys to all who come to city hall.
