The Mayor of Aragon turned herself in at the Polk County Jail and was briefly held in custody before being bonded out this evening on a Violation of Oath of Office charge.

Polk County Jail records cite it as the only charge, and she was only briefly booked on the charge.

Pittman reached out to say that she had no comment about the arrest. She plans to remain as Mayor and fight the charge.

Officials with knowledge of the arrest say that it involves an active investigation.
