Annie Ashmore Pamplin

Annie Ardelle Ashmore Pamplin, age 95, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Monday evening, January 24, 2022.

She was born on March 16, 1926 in Columbus, Mississippi the daughter of the late Paul Daniel Ashmore and the late Susan H. Bandy Ashmore.

Prior to her retirement, Ms. Pamplin had been employed with Norandex as the Office Manager for 25 years. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Eugene Ashmore, Pauline Driver, Raymond Ashmore and Martha Murphy and her husband, Ernest Garland Pamplin in 1987.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law Paul Pamplin and Linda; her daughter, Peggy Archer; grandchildren Michelle Robards, Jason and Dawne Pamplin, Jeremy and Stephanie Pamplin, Cristen and Joe Dan Thompson, and Alisha and Richard Blake, as well as thirteen great grandchildren.

For the past several years she had lived with her daughter, Peggy, her granddaughter, Michelle and great grandchildren, Lexxis and Landon.  They became her caregivers over the past several months.  Through the years, Meme had become Mother to her nieces Susan Bellican and Cindy Murphy.  She also became a grandmother to longtime family friend Kim Reeves.  These relationships added five more grandchildren and thirteen more great grandchildren to her family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday afternoon, January 28th, at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Mrs. Kimberly Reeves delivering the eulogy and Chaplin George Nix officiating.  A private burial will follow in the North View cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, January 28th, from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour.
