Mrs. Alma Garrett Helms, age 85, lifelong resident of Rockmart, GA passed away at the home of her daughter in Adairsville, GA on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Mrs. Helms was born in Rockmart, GA on November 9, 1937 a daughter of the late E.G. Garrett and the late Floreine Sorrells Garrett. She was a homemaker and a member of the True Fellowship Church. Mrs. Helms enjoyed taking care of her family, entertaining, gardening and traveling.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Helms on March 30, 2021; by two sisters: Agnes Deems and Betty Ann Akins and by a brother, Billy Garrett.
She is survived by a daughter, Anna Helms; son, Bobby Helms and his wife Debra; two grandsons: Clint Helms and Kody Meeks; sister, Shirley Mixon and a brother, Ray Garrett.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 11:00 am in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with Grandson Clint Helms officiating.
Pallbearers will include: Kody Meeks, Dylan Hines, Jeff Morgan, Mac McNabb, Bill Akins and Ricky Hines.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
