A man remains missing after four days and hopes are that he will be found safe and sound after he was reported to have gone off in the woods on Friday and hasn’t been seen since.

Austin Giles, 21, was reported missing on Sunday and the HCSO and other agencies have been seeking the public’s help today in bringing him home safely.

The Haralson County Sheriffs Office posted the following earlier today:

On Sunday, June 18, 2023, deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of Rainey Lake Road in Buchanan in reference to a missing person. 21-year-old Austin Giles went for a walk in the woods on Friday June 16, 2023, and did not return home. Family reported that it is common for Austin to walk in the woods and be gone for a day or so. Austin Giles is 6’7, he weighs about 155 pounds and has brown hair and eyes. Austin has Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism.

Deputies, Investigators, a K-9 and Deputies from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office along with Haralson County Fire Department personnel conducted a search until dark yesterday, but did not locate Austin. Haralson County Sheriff’s Office along with the Haralson County Fire Department is currently out searching for Austin today. We received information that Austin was on a porch and spoke to someone on a RING doorbell system yesterday evening at 6:57 PM at a residence on Joe Rowell Road.
