Mr. Walter Bennett “Bennie” Brown, age 60 of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 in a Rome medical center following a lengthy illness.
Bennie was born in McRae, GA on September 13, 1961 a son of Dewey Felton Brown and Julia Myrtle Moody Brown.
He had been a resident of Rockmart since 1972 and was a 1981 graduate of Rockmart High School. Bennie was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, deep sea fishing and spending time in the hay field bailing hay. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball.
Bennie was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Felton Brown on March 24, 2019.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Nelson Brown to whom he was married on September 18, 1982; daughter, Hannah Campbell (Matt); son, Chris Brown; grandchildren: Caedyn Robinson, Gage Campbell, Lakota Brown and Savanna Campbell; mother, Julia Brown; sister, Terry Singleton (Doug) and brother, Robbie Brown (Donna).
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include: Ron Campbell, Billy Lee, Gary Camp, Chris Brown, Matt Campbell , Robbie Brown, Michael Gay and Mark Hammonds. Tristan Adams will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Bennie Brown.
