Ms. Emma Laura Melton Palacios

Ms. Emma Laura Melton Palacios, age 36, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024.

She was born on June 1, 1987 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of Gary Jerome Melton and Nancy Cox Melton.

Emma was a 2005 graduate of Cedartown High School and a member of First Baptist Church. Emma was a person that loved life and every person she met along the way. She was a fun, outgoing person that would try to help anyone she could, regardless of their circumstances or hers.

She was a social butterfly, speaking to literally everyone she could and never meeting a stranger. Emma was the true definition of her sister’s keeper.

Emma and Mary Beth’s bond was strong and never ending. They were so much more than just sisters, they were best friends. Typically when you thought of Emma, you also always thought of Mary Beth. The love they had for each other was immeasurable.

Emma loved her family, especially her three children that were precious to her. Kamron, Isabella and Dominic were truly the shining light of Emma’s life. She was so extremely proud of them and would seem to glow anytime she talked about them.

Her incredible love for life, the love she had for her friends and the love she had for her family will forever be a part of those that knew her.

Ms. Palacios is preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Willis.

Emma is survived by her mother, Nancy Cox Melton; father, Gary Jerome Melton (Faye Downey Melton); children, Kamron Palacios, Isabella Palacios and Dominic Gibson; sisters, Mary Beth Melton, Mary Ann Payton, Selena Mobbs (Kevin) and Gerri Landry (Bobby); grandmother, Betty Cox; and fiancé, Dedric Gibson. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
