Get ready, the first round of voting is soon to be underway for the 2024 election.

The Presidential Preference Primary for parties is coming up on March 12, and the deadline for those who have yet to register and want to take part is coming up. This week, the Logic and Accuracy testing for the primary began on Monday, and continues through the coming days.

The last chance to register for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary is set for close of business this coming Monday, February 12. Those who want to get an absentee ballot set for the primary can also begin to request one now.

Registration can be taken care on the Secretary of State’s website. You can also find information about local polling places for each registered voter in the state and registration status at the My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/ to find the info needed to vote on March 12.

February 19 will be the first day of the three weeks of advanced voting ahead of the primary, with two Saturdays set for ballots to be cast.

Early voting precincts are available in Cedartown and Rockmart for the upcoming primary, the May General Primary for local, state and federal offices, and later this year the November election.

Republican and Democratic voters are both being asked on March 12 to cast ballots for their preference on the presidential ballots coming up this November. Candidates will still have to be nominated at conventions this summer before they represent their party on the ballot later this year.

Currently, the front runners for the parties are former President Donald Trump as the Republican’s likely nominee, and President Joe Biden to remain as the Democratic nominee.
