Mrs. Shelvie Robinson Roach, age 78, of Aragon, GA, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022.
Mrs. Roach was born in Aragon, GA on April 22, 1944, a daughter of the late James Robinson and the late Annie Ruth Cash Robinson. Shelvie had lived all of her life in Aragon where she was a lifelong member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
She enjoyed classic country music and southern gospel music. Shelvie enjoyed cooking and spent several years as a cook at Grants Country Store. Her greatest love was her family and the time she was able to spend with them. She retired from Goodyear Mill after many years of service.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roach was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward “Ed” Roach on October 18, 2015, to whom she married on April 19, 1963; daughter, Rhonda Cook; eight brothers and sisters: Dorothy, Juanita, Louise, Lelamae, Ola, Steve, Vernon, and Richard.
Shelvie is survived by her granddaughter, Brittany Smith and her husband, Corey, Aragon; grandson, Adam Cook, Cedartown; great-grandchildren: Maddie, Isaac, and Carter Smith; son-in-law, Ricky Cook and his wife, Paula, Cedartown; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Colt Deems and Rev. Tim Deems officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Corey Smith officiating.
Pallbearers will include: Sonny Hendrix, Chris Hindmon, Olin Streetman, Everette Sutton, Danny Ingle, Emmerson Maulding, Joseph Landrum, and Brent Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will include: Chad Williams, Stanley Williams, Terry Williams, Scott Williams, Tim Ingle, Corey Ingle, James Bearden, and Billy Greeson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 7, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
