Winds are whipping and a storm is a-comin’ tonight as the National Weather Service has an advisory in effect and a flood watch is set to start at midnight.
Forecasters in Peachtree City have instituted the wind advisory at 7 p.m., and it’ll remain until 7 p.m. on Tuesday and then a flood watch is going to start at midnight and continue as well until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9.
Rain is moving into the area from the southwest and storms are set to remain over Polk County though the midday hours on Tuesday, with between two to four inches of rain expected as wet weather pushes into the area.
The NWS is predicting that some storms could be severe, and winds are expected between 20 to 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph tonight, and winds as high as 30 mph through at least midday.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible throughout the night, especially across southern Georgia, a few storms may be strong to severe.

Temperatures are expected to increase overnight and get up to 60 during the day, and then drop on Tuesday night to 30 degrees with very slight chances of snow flurries late, but then gradually ending and no accumulation is predicted at the moment.
Look for the forecast to clear and temperatures to remain in the upper 40s through upper 50s through the remainder of the week, and back up into the 60s by Friday with another major temperature drop to come.
