Santa was all over the place in Polk County yesterday – from Family Savings in Rockmart to Assisted Living facilities in Cedartown – as he gets ready for his big ride on Christmas Eve.

Hardy Realty’s Richard Long brought Santa to town in his convertible on Thursday making some stops around town to visit local residents who are excited for Christmas, including Big Springs Village Assisted Living.

The magic of Christmas spread throughout the facility on Melissa Lane, and one resident in particular finally felt the spirit of the season.

“One lady smiled and tried to speak and the employees said she hadn’t shown any emotion in quite a while,” Long said. “It almost got to me.”

He added that throughout his and Santa’s journey around town, people around the city were enjoying Santa’s ride by waving back and even spreading some Christmas cheer with a few chuckles.

“I hope we brought some joy to their day,” Long said. “It was the bright spot of my month.”

Long was joined by Garland Lankford who donned Santa’s suit for the ride around town on Kris Kringle’s behalf.
