West Avenue on Thursday, March 21, will be closed off again for an 8-hour span to take care of a big patch of paving needed on the road surface.

The damage to the road caused by the old Jockey plant fire requires paving work to be completed, and the City of Cedartown will be detouring drivers once again to complete the work.

The closure will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., per City Manager Edward Guzman.

Motorists will need to detour around West Avenue during the closure from Prior Street to North Second Street. Utilize Canal Street or Girard Avenue to get around the closures for the day.

Guzman noted the only paving to be completed is the patch where the fire damage occurred.
