Cason Woods will have some additional financial aid when he heads off to crack the books in college, thanks to the Georgia Young Farmers Association.

The Rockmart High Senior this past weekend at the GYFA’s 54th annual conference over the weekend announced Woods as this year’s recipient of the Terrell Weeks Memorial Scholarship.

The GYFA gives out 5 $1,000 scholarships annually to students like Woods who are heading off to college in the fall and are planning on being involved in an agricultural field of study.

Last year, Woods was one of several FFA members to earn their state degrees within the Polk School District, as well as . He was also a 2020 member of the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy at RHS, and won several awards while at Rockmart Middle in various competitions as well.

Join us in congratulating Rockmart High School senior, Cason Woods! Cason was awarded the Georgia Young Farmers Association (GYFA) Terrell Weeks Memorial Scholarship at the 54th GYFA Annual Conference this weekend!

The memorial scholarship is given to a senior student affiliated with a chartered young farmer chapter each year in honor of Terrell Weeks, who served as the Georgia Young Farmers executive director. Students chosen to receive the scholarship are those who have demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding achievement and plan to further their education in agriculture.
