Rhonda Lynn Stephens Sanders

Rhonda Lynn Stephens Sanders passed away February 5th, 2024, after a brief illness, at the age of 63.

Born on September 24, 1960, Rhonda spent her entire life in Cedartown. She graduated from Cedartown High School in 1978 and married Darryl Sanders on June 2 of the following year.

Rhonda and Darryl celebrated 44 years of marriage last year. Throughout her career, Rhonda worked primarily in the healthcare industry as a medical transcriptionist. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, taking trips to the beach and listening to Garth Brooks and Elvis Presley.

Known for her outgoing and sociable nature, Rhonda was always at the center of any gathering and was known for her lively spirit. If there was fun to be had, Rhonda was going to be right there having it. She had a penchant for carrying a cup of Diet Dr. Pepper with her wherever she went.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Arlie Jr. “AJ” Stephens and Iva Mae Dempsey Stephens; and a brother, Stan Stephens.

Rhonda is survived by her loving husband, Darryl Sanders; children, Stephanie Sims and her husband, Eddie, and Stephen Sanders and his wife, Brianna; and grandchildren, Jordan White, Koby White, and Jovie Sanders.

Additionally, Rhonda is also survived by siblings: Arlene Camp, Jerold Stephens and his wife, Imo, Jan Longino, and Leeann Robinson and her husband Randy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service honoring Rhonda’s life will be held on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Anthony Trawick officiating. The service will begin at 1:00 PM, with interment following in Polk Memory Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jordan White, Koby White, Eddie Sims, Hayden Ely, Matthew Sims, and Casey White.

Rhonda’s family will receive friends, also on Thursday, from 11:00 AM until the service hour, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

In honor of Rhonda Sanders’ memory, the family has requested that memorial tributes be made to her funeral fund at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
