Two people were taken into custody over the weekend after police found them in the roadway at an intersection while on patrol, and ultimately discovered at least one of the pair had drugs on them according to Polk County Police reports.

Tia N Edwards, 26, of a Cedartown address, and Cody Michael Brock, 30, of a Tallapoosa address, were both taken into custody on Sunday, February 18 after police found them around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Antioch Road and Huntington Road in the Cedartown area.

Police first spoke to Brock who claimed he was just attempting to fix a bicycle, and when they ran his name through state and national crime databases found he had a warrant for his arrest. Brock was taken into custody without incident.

Edwards attempted to hide her face when the pair were first approached, and gave them a false name and date of birth twice before police investigated further and found out her real identity. Edwards was taken into custody after and was searched and found to have a bag of suspected methamphetamine, pipes, syringes and “foil with more suspected meth.”

Police also noted that Edwards had a warrant out for her arrest as well.

Bond was not set as of this posting for Edwards, who remains in custody on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and a failure to appear warrant. She also faces misdemeanor charges of giving false name, address or birthdate to officer, obstructing law enforcement officers and possession and use of drug-related objects.

Brock was held on a warrant out of Tallapoosa, and was transported after his arrest to the Haralson County Jail where he remained on a failure to appear misdemeanor warrant without bond set.
