Billy Wynn Dylan Pinkard

Police are looking for a Rockmart-area man who fled from his vehicle after it flipped multiple times while being pursued by law enforcement, according to a Polk County Police report.

Billy Wynn Dylan Pinkard, 21, of 91 Coats Road, Rockmart, is being sought on multiple charges after he sped up from officers in a short chase in the area around Atlanta Highway and Blue Hole Road following a brief traffic stop.

Pinkard is reported by police to have finally come to a stop after being spotted by an officer who knew he had active warrants for his arrest around 2 a.m. this morning, and tried to stop his 1998 beige Honda Civic around Sycamore Street and Blue Hole Road.

When the officer got out of his vehicle, Pinkard sped off and police did not get into a high speed pursuit, but instead attempted to safely catch up to him.

Instead, Pinkard is reported to have lost control of the Civic around Tri-City Pawn, where he rolled over “multiple times into a tree” at the pawn shop at Sycamore and Garner Streets.

Police could not locate Pinkard afterward, despite setting up a perimeter with available PCPD and Rockmart Police Department officers searching for the suspect who had just wrecked a vehicle.

In the report, the officer who initiated the traffic stop stated that “The driver fled on foot before I arrived or had been possibly ejected from the vehicle.”

Pinkard is being sought on multiple warrants for the incident including charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and obstruction or hindering law enforcement and failure to report an accident, among other charges related to the high-speed chase that was short-lived. The car was towed following the overnight incident.

If you know the whereabouts of Pinkard, please contact Polk County Police at 770-748-7331, or call 911. He is a white male, five-foot-eight and 136 pounds based on his most recent description from the report.
