Cody Kim Parker

A Cedartown man remains in the Polk County Jail without bond set on a single charge after he was accused of shooting at a South Lewis Street residence on February 3, according to Polk County Police reports.

Officers reported that they arrested Cody Kim Parker, 28, of 1810 Piedmont Hwy., Cedartown, after a resident at the South Lewis Street address accused Parker of firing a single shot at the house on Thursday, Feb. 3, at around 3 p.m.

The victim in the incident was walking out his back door when he heard a gunshot and glass break, and then alleged he saw Parker drive off in the truck, which he recognized since he knew both the suspect and his truck well.

Police reported that the bullet went through a window, a door, a wall and ended up in the kitchen refrigerator before it lodged itself in the appliance. The report stated it almost hit two people.

Another resident at the South Lewis Street address reported that Parker had accused that witness of stealing the radio out of Parker’s truck that morning, and that he left afterward.

Police called up Parker to hear his side of the story, and he told officers that he had been home all day with a relative.

An arrest warrant was taken out, and Parker was in custody on Sunday afternoon.

He was booked on a felony charge of aggravated assault.
