Redmond EMS was recognized during a recent gathering of the Georgia Emergency Medical Services Association, including its director Marty Robinson.

Robinson – the Rockmart City Council Member and a deputy coroner for Polk County as well – was named the Georgia EMS Director of the year for 2020 by GEMSA during a presentation on May 3 at the Peachtree Point Amphitheater in Buford.

Redmond EMS’s Doug Swift and Zane Pulliam also took awards as well. They were named the State of Georgia Dr. J. Jeffery Marshall Excellence in Emergency Cardiac Care Award winners for 2020 as well.

This was part of an event that started Monday and wraps today for the 2021 Directors and Leadership conference.

The organization provides a number of services to EMTs and members who provide first response medical services in the field to help save lives, including continued education opportunities.

Redmond Emergency Medical Services helmed by Robinson provides ambulance service to Polk, Floyd and Chattooga counties with stations located throughout each county. The service began in 1989 and has expanded in recent years to not only include first response medical care to patients in need, but expanded into some preventative services as well.
