Mr. Billy Joe Bishop, age 67, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday morning, April 15, 2024.
Billy was born in Cedartown, GA, on May 6, 1956, one of seven sons of the late Thurston Bishop and Mildred Griffin Bishop.
He had lived all his life in Polk County and was a member of the Van Wert Baptist Church. Billy had worked for many years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber of Rockmart prior to retirement. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and raising chickens.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bishop and Johnny Lee Bishop.Billy is survived by four brothers, Robert Bishop, Randy (Dana) Bishop, Jerry (Rita) Bishop, and Richard (Pam) Bishop.
His companion, Edna “Star” Head also survives.
Billy’s family will receive friends Thursday evening, April 18, 2024, at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Immediately following, a graveside inurnment service will be held at Mountain View Church Cemetery.Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of the arrangements for Mr. Billy Joe Bishop.
