The Rockmart Cultural Arts Center are joining the fun on Saturday as countries across the globe celebrate World Art Day.

April 15 is the date on the calendar in which people are encouraged to celebrate the variety of arts that make up life locally and internationally, and the Rockmart Art Gallery is hosting several workshops and events that give patrons the opportunity to see and create artwork of their own.

The Rockmart High School Art Exhibit will be holding their gala celebration on Saturday, with the event beginning at 6 p.m. and an awards celebration at 7 p.m.

Additionally, the 14th District High School Artwork is on display in the hallway galleries at the RCAC, and visitors can vote for their favorites.

Four different workshops are planned for the day as well. Starting at 10 a.m., Dana Helton is hosting a Stained Glass Bird workshop. Needle Felting a Hippie Mini Bus will be taking place at the same time with Hillari Knight.

Happening during the same hour at 10:30 a.m., Margie Monde will be leading the Ice Dye or Reverse Tie-Dye Top or Dress workshop. Sue Ritt’s Candle Making workshop also begins at 10:30 a.m.
