Four members of the Polk County Republican Party attended the Joint Reapportionment and Redistricting Hearings in the 14th Congressional District in Dalton on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

Shown are Janet Ross, Chair, Ken Suffridge 2nd Vice Chair, and James Vines, Aragon Prescient Chair. Not Shown is Colt Chambers.

Redistricting occurs every 10 years following the Census Count which took place in 2020.

Based upon population changes District lines are redrawn.  Georgia currently has 14 Congressional Districts and will continue to have 14 after a Fall/Winter a Special Session of the Georgia General Assembly convenes to approve NEW District Maps.

Ken Suffridge said “I hope all the Counties in the 14th remain and they decide to put ALL of Pickens County in the 14th, at present half of Pickens County is in the 9th Congressional District, that is not a good mix for them.”
