Polk County Republican Party members who were elected as delegates made their way to the statewide convention this past Friday and Saturday to take part in two days of discussions and hear from statewide leadership during the annual event.

The convention which started on June 4 and continued through June 5 saw a Polk delegation that included Janet Ross, Chairperson, Susan Vines, Treasurer, Larry Reynolds, State Committeeman, along with Colt, Caleb, Chesley and Trey Chambers, Ken Suffridge, as well as Aragon Precinct Chair James Vines.

Especially noteworthy from this year’s convention in the Polk delegation was Caleb Chambers, a student at Rockmart High School and the grandson of former Polk GOP chair Dr. Marc Wall.

The 18-year-old just celebrated his birthday last week, attending his fifth GOP state convention. He’s been an attendee at GOP meetings since he was 8 years old.

The annual state convention held at Jekyll Island included state leadership like Governor Brian Kemp. Here’s political coverage of the event from AJC.com.
