Polk County Fair returns September 6 to 10

The Polk County Fair is right around the corner, and though some information is still being put together about each night’s entertainment (up until Sunday,) the time has come to start thinking about entering Livestock Shows and getting submissions ready for various contests inside the exhibition hall.

The Polk County Fair website has information about this year’s Livestock show signups for the Lamb and Goat show coming up on the opening evening of the Fair on September 6, and entries are still being accepted. The Lamb and Goat show starts at 5 p.m. during the Fair.

Visit the Polk County Livestock Promotions page on Facebook to find keep up with the show announcements, but here’s the flyer needed to sign up and info about the show on Sept. 6:

With the increasing popularity of the Calf Show growing each year, the Fair moved the date of the competition to the Saturday following the fair as its own event. The Calf Show is on Saturday, September 16 with the first competitors going before judges at 10 a.m.

A change this year is also the move of the 3rd annual Miss Polk County Fair pageant to another date prior to the Fair. The pageant is set to be held at Pine Bower Church the weekend before the fair on Saturday, September 2. Time to be announced in an upcoming story on Polktoday.com.

The fair will continue to have rides, games, contests of all types and much more for families to enjoy.

Keep up with what’s happening at the Fair on their website or on the Polk County Fair Facebook page.

Quick items of note:

Fair entry is $5 for adults and $3 for children throughout each day of the fair.
