Police caught two people red-handed when they were found inside of a relative’s home they broke into on the morning of February 4, according to Polk County Police reports.

Officers arrested Ausha Lane Tucker, 19, her address listed as a McDowell Road residence, and Bryan Cody Wiggins, 32, of 18 Old Potash Road, Cedartown, were both jailed on a single felony charge of first-degree burglary on Friday morning, February 4, after officers arrived at a McDowell Road address around 9 a.m.

The report stated that officers were called out to investigate a breaking-and-entering by a relative who told officers the pair were still inside and had broken in through a bedroom window.

Police got in with a key through the front door and called out for the two suspects to come out. Tucker came out first, and told officers that her boyfriend – identified as Wiggins – was in the bathroom. He came out without further incident as well, and both were taken into custody.

Via a phone call, the homeowner told police that he hated to press charges, but had no choice since the pair had been told multiple times to stay away from the home.

Both were booked into the Polk County Jail where they remained without bond set as of this report on the felony charge.
