Mr. Paul Lewis Lindsey, age 86, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, December 27, 2023, in Rome, GA.
Mr. Lindsey was born in Cartersville, GA, on March 18, 1937, a son of the late General Harrison Lindsey and Gladys Sanford Lindsey.
He had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a member of the Daviette Masonic Lodge #513 F&AM in Aragon, GA.
Mr. Lindsey was associated with JL Lester & Sons Grocery for many years. He was a member and past deacon of New Prospect Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and was a past member of Heaven Bound Quartet. Mr. Lindsey loved working on his farm and spending time on his tractor.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Olivia Moore Lindsey, on March 4, 2013, whom he married May 1, 1954. Two brothers, Terry Lindsey and Buddy Lindsey, and two sisters, Marie Harper and Edith Landrum, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Bobby Helms of Rockmart; son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Jerri Lindsey of Gulf Shores, AL; grandchildren, Clint Helms, Amanda Gravett, and Whitney Graham; great-grandchildren, Mattie Rae Gravett, Andrea Mae Gravett, Beau Graham, and Nash Graham. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Atchley officiating. Entombment will follow in Aragon Cemetery.
Mr. Lindsey’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Steve Landrum, Roger Landrum, Keith Lindsey, Clint Helms, Jeff Morgan, and Scotty Sorrells.
Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mr. Paul Lewis Lindsey.
