Mrs. Myrtle Louise Cartwright Smith, age 85, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. She was born on July 3, 1936 in Cleveland, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late R.C. and Pearl Jenkins Cartwright.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Eddie Smith (Ann) and Greg Smith (Christie); daughter-in-law, Darlene Stephens Smith; sisters, Pauline Cartwright and Gladys Pierce; brothers, Earl Cartwright and Wayne Cartwright; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and August Lee; grandchildren, Hannah, Josh, Jonathan, Rebekah, Rachel, Sarah, Daniel and Elizabeth; and great-grandsons who were the light of her life, Judd and Colt.
Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Guy Smith, Sr.; son, Donald Guy Smith, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Smith; sister, Pearl Hill; brothers, Kenneth Cartwright, Pledger Cartwright, Blaine Cartwright, Melvin Cartwright and Dwight Cartwright; and great-grandchild, Ruthie Mae Jones.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Myrtle Louise Cartwright Smith will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Carter and Rev. Doyle Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Bill Heaton officiating.
The family of Mrs. Smith will receive family and friends on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
Flowers are being accepted; however, donations can also be made to the Second Baptist Church of Cedartown Building Fund, 152 Evergreen Lane, Cedartown, GA 30125.
The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers: Josh Smith, Jonathan Smith, Daniel Smith, Deric Jones, Colton Tilley, and Taylor Poe.
