Mrs. Wanda Sue Knight

Mrs. Wanda Sue Knight, age 60, of Cedartown, GA passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Wanda was born on July 24, 1960 to her late parents; Charlie and Mary Howard Wood. Mrs. Knight worked as a tax preparer and later worked as a bookkeeper. She also taught index social security classes and was involved with Operation Christmas. Wanda was a faithful member of Live Oak Baptist Church, where she greatly enjoyed playing the piano and the organ, as well as being the director of WMU with her wonderful church family who she loved so much. She walked faithfully with her Lord and Savior and loved to witness to people, as well as helping anyone in need! Wanda was always collecting items every where she went for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child’s Shoe Box Ministry. In her free time, she loved to travel, she had traveled to all 50 states and 6 different countries. Mrs. Knight was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Ann Wood, nephew, Jason Strickland and niece, Cindy Strickland.



Mrs. Knight is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Knight of Cedartown, GA, sister, Doris Strickland and her husband, Sammy, nephews: Randy Strickland, Michel Strickland, and many loving extended family, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Knight will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Smith & Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Vines and Rev. Anthony Osborn officiating at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Casey Strickland, Justin Norton, Bryan Stroup Joseph Knight, Mack Knight, Brody Strickland, Carson Strickland and Dustin Stroble. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Knights loving nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are recommended.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Operation Christmas Child at Live Oak Baptist Church in loving memory of Mrs. Knight. Memorial donations may be sent to: P O Box 202, Aragon GA 30104
