Mrs. Maxielee Rice

Mrs. Maxielee Stone Rice, age 93, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 6th, 2021. She was born on October 30th, 1927 in Lafayette, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Andrew Stone and Della Jane Summerour Stone.

Maxielee worked and retired from Eckerd Drug Store and was the Avon representative for forty years.

Maxielee prided herself in making her house a home for her family and their cherished family gatherings. Maxielee’s love for her family guided her to provide them with God’s values to live by.

Mrs. Rice is survived by her daughters, Laura Anderson (Jeff), Melinda Turner (Barry) and Jessica Rice, raised as a daughter; sons, Wendell Rice (Angela) and Barry Rice (Paige); ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Newt Rice; son Stan Rice; six sisters and two brothers.

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Maxielee Stone Rice will be held on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 at two o’clock in afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp and Rev. Seth Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with Mrs. Jena Owens providing the closing prayer.  

The family of Mrs. Rice will receive family and friends on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021, from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Wendell Rice, Barry Rice, Steven Rice, Mike Rice, Kenneth Ferguson, Tommy Marchbanks and Richard Marchbanks. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Hurst and David Hatch.

In accordance with the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the CDC, social distancing guidelines will be in place as well as the use of masks required for all services provided for Mrs. Rice.
