Mr. Jesse Lee Stallings

Mr. Jesse “Jet” Lee Stallings, age 92, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021.  He was born on October 16, 1928 in Lyerly, Georgia. He was the son of the late Hobart McKinley and Laura Ellen Wheeling Stallings.

Jesse was a long time faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown and his beloved Solid Rock Sunday School Class.

Jesse served in the US Army, was in combat in Korea where he received a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars, Korean Service Medal and Distinguished Unit Citation.  He retired from Watts Wallace Hardware.

Mr. Stallings is survived by his daughters, Gail Lindsey (Ken), Sandra Royster, and Patti Dooley (Larry); step-daughter, Patty Rogers; step-son, Steve Rogers (Annette); sisters, Bessie May and Ruth Kinsey; brother, Billy Stallings (Angie); grandson, Michael Beck; granddaughters, Karen Smith (Kelley), Amy Monroe (Rob), and Lori Casey (Ben); and great-grandchildren, Laura Nessim (Mounir), Jessie Smith, Cole Beck, Sam Smith, Pierce, Kate and Thomas Monroe, and Knox, Banks, Gaines and Corinne Casey.

Mr. Stallings is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lura Brown Clemons Stallings; second wife, Cora Ann Lee Rogers Stallings; brothers, Hobart Stallings, Jr. and Fred Stallings; and grandson, Kevin Doyal Beck.

The funeral service for Mr. Jesse Lee Stallings will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Stallings will receive family and friends on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from two o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral service hour at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jonah Bag Ministry of First Baptist Church of Cedartown, 101 N. College Street, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Mike Beck, Cole Beck, Sam Smith, Pierce Monroe, Thomas Monroe, Knox Casey, Banks Casey, and Gaines Casey.
