Mr. James Kenneth “Ken” Martin, age 74, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021.
Ken was born on November 17, 1946 in Rome, GA to Julius K. Martin, Jr, and Sara McElwee Martin. Ken was a graduate of Cedartown High School, class of 1964.
He then served in the United States Air Force as a Russian interpreter and decoder from 1964 to 1968. Following his time in the service he then graduated from West Georgia College with a degree in Political Science. He was employed by the Georgia Department of Labor for 30 years.
Ken enjoyed spending time with his dogs and reading.
He is preceded in death by his father, Julius K. Martin, Jr.; mother, Sara McElwee Martin and sister, Bonnie Martin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Belinda Shinall Martin; son, Jason Martin; son in law, Ed Dzialo; granddaughter, June Martin; sister, Marilyn Kay Martin; sister in law, Carolyn Shinall Carder; nephews, Tom (Elizabeth) Shinall, Matt (Brielle) Shinall; niece, Laura Martin Sullins.
The family will celebrate his life later with private services.
