Mr. Arnold Eugene Browder Jr.

Mr. Arnold Eugene Browder, Jr., age 81, of Rome, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2021, at a local hospital.

Mr. Browder was born in Polk County, Georgia on July 5, 1940, son of the late Mazell Adcock Browder and the late Arnold E. Browder, Sr. 

He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Avis Jones and Janice Browder, by a stepdaughter, Stephanie Ragland, by two brothers, Franklin Browder and James Browder, and by four sisters, Jewel Fredrick, Maybell Hudson, Gladys McGuire, and Thelma Moore.  He was a member of the Church of Christ. 

Mr. Browder’s working career began with Wilder’s Funeral Home in 1960. He later worked in housekeeping at Floyd Medical Center and Integrated Products. 

He served with the Rome Police Department for 3 years and then was a chef at Ryan’s for 10 years until retirement.  After retirement, he went back to work at Fifth Avenue Health and Rehab for 3 years until his final retirement.

Mr. Browder leaves to cherish his memories a wife, Peggie Ragland Browder; three daughters, Joyce Bryant, Mary Smith, and Robin Browder; two stepchildren, Patricia Cooper and Darren Ragland; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Julia Wolford and Sylvia Hatcher; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 1pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Minister Larry Ware officiating and Pastor Johnny Hudson saying a prayer.  Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11am until 12:45pm.
