Kimberly Slaughter Ballard

Kimberly Slaughter Ballard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 29, 2024. She was born on September 26, 1962, to her late parents, Kenneth Luther Slaughter and Norma Jean Koone.

Kimberly’s presence in the lives of those who knew her was truly cherished and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Kimberly dedicated her life to being a homemaker, making her family’s well-being her top priority. Kimberly’s nurturing spirit was evident in every aspect of her life.

A social and loving individual, Kimberly had an innate ability to connect with people. Her warm smile and kind heart touched everyone she met.

One of Kimberly’s favorite pastimes was going to the beach. Additionally, she had a great passion for seafood. As an ardent Elvis Presley fan, she would often find solace in his timeless music.

Kimberly’s passing leaves a void in the lives of many, especially her surviving family members who were so dear to her. She is survived by her husband, Wesley Ballard; four adoring children: LaBriska Nicole Waddell and her husband Matthew, Rachel Lynn Surlock and her husband David, Janice Marie Ballard, Stephen Wesley Ballard and his wife Carmen; a brother, Dale Lanier; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will always hold her memory close to their hearts.

Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren: Patrick Ballard, Aaron Adams, Courtney Morrow, Heather Dunn, Harleigh Waddell, Ashley Waddell, and Sterling Surlock. Her love and affection for her grandchildren knew no bounds, and she took immense joy in watching them grow.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Syconda Vines; brothers, Keith Vines and Michael Vines; grandchildren, Elma Mathis Slaughter, and Luther Slaughter; aunts, Dixie Slaughter, Pearlie Slaughter, Mavis Slaughter, and Carolyn Slaughter; close cousins, Larry and Lynn Ezzell, and Sylvia Puckett.
