A local business owner is gaining a voice on a national stage to represent those who run small businesses across the country.
Lindsey Kent of Rockmart was recently named to the National Small Business Association’s Leadership Council to represent small businesses around the country in lobbying governments on every level in issues that impact owners like Kent.
Kent, a real estate agent and co-owner of RoofWorks in Rockmart, joins the NSBA Leadership Council to ensure that policymakers are getting the job done right for small business.
“As a small business owner, I see daily the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation,” Kent said in a press release. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable to me to take our collective small business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress.”
Kent owns several small businesses in the Rockmart area. She’s a real estate agent with a lifelong knowledge of the construction industry and works alongside her husband Jereme at RoofWorks in Rockmart, where they provide a variety of contracting services.
She joins the NSBA Leadership Council in an effort to tackle many small business issues around the country that includes among the list regulatory and tax reform, health care costs and access to capital in the short and long term for local owners. The NSBA additionally focuses on valuable networking opportunities for small business advocates nationwide.
