Kenneth Daniel Powell, age 68, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, in Rome GA.
Kenneth was born in Rockmart on March 6, 1955, a son of Betty Brown Powell and the late Clyde Franklin Powell.
He had lived all his life in Rockmart and was a member of Springdale Baptist Church. Kenneth retired from Southland Metals after 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and working on trucks. Kenneth cherished the time he got to spend with his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Kenneth was preceded in death by a nephew, Zach Powell.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Jada Richey; two grandchildren, Truman Richey and Vada Hatling; mother, Betty Powell; brothers, Michel Powel, Benny Powell, Calvin “Cokkie” Powell, and Raymond Powell; sisters, Vickie Cole and Connie Gober. Several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Kenneth will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Springdale Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby McDowell officiating. Rev. Sam Leggett will deliver the opening prayer. Interment will follow in Springdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kenneth’s family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 2, 2024, at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Andy George, Chad Richey, Brent Cole, Chase Cole, Brenden Gober, Brayden Loyd, Mark Forsyth, and Matt Forsyth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
