Mrs. Joanna Lynn Newman Brock, age 60 of Rockmart, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022.
Mrs. Brock was born July 9, 1962 in Rome, daughter of Faye Thompson Newman and the late Grover James Newman. She was a 1980 graduate of Rockmart High School and growing up attended the Rockmart Church of God. Mrs. Brock was a sewing machine operator having worked for L. L. Trophy’s for 12 years.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lee Newman.
Survivors include her husband, Harold William “Duck” Brock of Rockmart; daughter, Kristy Williams (Michael) of Rockmart; two sons, Jared Brock (Jennifer) of Cartersville and Randy Brock (Amanda) of Rome; mother, Faye Newman of Rockmart; step-mother, Darline Newman of Chickamauga; sister, Leah Newman of Nashville, TN; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brock will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers: Ashley Wooten, Gavin Langford, Austin Wooten, Shane Roberson, Tyler Williams and Israel Contreras.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 between the hours of 5-7p.m.
