Mr. Jerry Van Stegall, age 74, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Thursday evening, January 4, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Stegall was born in Cedartown, GA, on April 3, 1949, a son of the late Herchell Stegall and Frances Bishop Stegall.
He had lived all his life in Rockmart and was a member of Aragon Baptist Church.
Mr. Stegall retired from General Motors after 34 years of service. He was always ready to go fishing, enjoyed woodworking, had a love for music and cherished his time with family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stegall was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Johnson Stegall, a grandson, Devin Green, and a brother, Jimmy Stegall.
Mr. Stegall is survived by three daughters, Marie Stegall of Aragon, GA, Lisa Tapley (Shannon) of Rockmart, and Shannon Freeman (Steve Hamilton) of Rockmart; brother, Billy Stegall (Peggy) of Aragon; sister, Marion Scott of Taylorsville, GA. six grandchildren,seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Stegall will be Monday, January 8, 2024, at 12:00 noon, in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Clark and Brother Melton Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Stegall’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Sunday evening, January 7, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Austin McHan, Steve Hamilton, Christian Hamilton, Tommy Bishop, Jr., Daniel Christie, Jake Freeman, and Randy Presley, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will include Billy Stegall, Randy Presley, Sr., Danny Bailey, and Jerry McDurmon.
