Jerry H. Baker, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at his residence on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He born in Dallas, Georgia on January 7, 1940 to his parents: Dave Baker and Janie Swan Baker.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Baker, a cherished brother to Billy Johnson and sister, Joyce Woods Chapman. His presence will forever be missed by his surviving family members including his children: Lamar (Kelly) Baker of Port Charlotte, FL, Brenda (Tony) Presley of Rockmart, GA, Levitta Barber of Aragon, GA, Terry (Kristy) Baker of Rockmart, GA , as well as his ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his immediate family, Jerry is also survived by his brother, Jackie Baker of Rockmart, GA ; sisters: Carolyn Mayfield of Aragon, GA, Judy Williams of Aragon, GA and June Turner of Aragon, GA, numerous nieces and nephews who looked up to him.
Jerry’s kind soul extended not only to humans but also to animals. Nell, his best buddy and four-legged friend brought joy and happiness into his life. They shared countless memorable moments together.
Throughout his career in construction, Jerry demonstrated exceptional skill and craftsmanship. He took great pride in his work.
In his free time, Jerry delighted in pursuing his passions. Whether he was casting out a line on a peaceful lake or tinkering with tractors, he found solace and tranquility in these activities. These hobbies served as an escape from the daily grind and brought him happiness.
Jerry H. Baker leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and compassion. He taught his family and friends the importance of cherishing each moment with our loved ones and reminded us to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. While our hearts ache at his departure from this world, we take comfort in knowing that Jerry has left an indelible mark on our lives.
Let us celebrate the beautiful life that Jerry lived. May his memory continue to inspire us for years to come, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
A private Graveside Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
