Mr. James Edward Guthrie, age 81, passed away Thursday, July 7,2022 in Cedartown, GA. He was born in Birmingham, Ala. on April 5, 1941 to the late J.C. Guthrie and Georgia Mae Guthrie.
Mr. Guthrie was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Norfolk Southern Railway until his retirement. Some of his enjoyments in life were farming, cooking, eating, fishing, and sharing stories. Mr. Guthrie loved his friends, family, and his Cedar Valley nurses.
In addition to his parents, he is preceeded in death by his loving wife, Francine Lourell Guthrie, son, Ronald Joe Guthrie, brother, Richard Lynn Guthrie, sister, Linda Sue Woodley.
He is survived by his children, Phillip (Rika) Guthrie, Bruce (Ashley) Guthrie, grandchildren, Nicole (Jacob) Lindsey, Joelle Guthrie, Rachel Guthrie, Tyler Guthrie, Brandon Guthrie, Brady Guthrie, Kason (Alize) Morris, Charlie Ward, great-grand child, Loretta Lindsey. A host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 3Pm. in the chapel of Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Pilgram officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memory Gardens, with the American Legion Post #5, conducting military rights.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 1PM til the funeral hour.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at the funeral home on Sunday by 2:30 Pm. and include, Steve Guthrie, Jason Guthrie, Joel Guthrie, Vashon Guthrie, Jacob Lindsey, and Josh Gibson.
Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements of Mr. James Edward Guthrie.
