Mrs. Jackie Hudson White, age 82, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Mrs. White was born in Dothan, AL, on May 26, 1941, daughter of the late Russell Hudson and Virgie Stokes Hudson.
She had moved to Rome in 2001 and was a member of the Church of Christ. She lived in Memphis, TN for 10 years followed by 6 years in Fort Wayne, IN, then 16 years in Columbus, GA.
Mrs. White had received her Master Degree in education and spent 25 years as an educator in Phenix City, AL. She enjoyed reading and cooking (she made the best fried chicken and sweet tea), and spending time with family. Mrs. White was a great conversationalist and was always available for a great laugh.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, James Stanley “Jim” White, on July 17, 2016, whom she married September 5, 1959. A sister, Sybil Hudson Taylor, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. White is survived by a daughter, Kay White; son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Sue White; grandsons, Kendall (Laura) White, and Taylor (Lauren) White; granddaughter, Libby White Harrell (Reed). Five great-grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.
