Mr. Gerald Bobby Lee, age 83, of Cedartown, GA passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 in a Rome medical center.
Gerald was born in Cartersville, GA on August 29, 1939, a son of the late Harold Franklin Lee and the late Annie Avis Sumner Lee.
He had been a resident of Polk County since 1960, was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Gerald retired from the Georgia Power Company as a boiler turbine operator at Plant Bowen. He also enjoyed hunting and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Burrell Lee on February 6, 2004; by a brother, Bernie and two sisters: Phyllis and Joyce.
Survivors include his companion of 18 years Arlene Hulsey and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion providing military honors.
Pallbearers will include: Randy Smith, Josh Smith, Jeremy Gibel, Mark Broome, Steve Holder and Ethan Gibel. Honorary pallbearers will include: Clifford Shepherd, Danny Maddox, Adam Elrod, Eric Elrod and former co-workers at Georgia Power.
The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
