Mrs. Emily “Catherine” Johnson Williams

Mrs. Emily “Catherine” Johnson Williams, age 99, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

Mrs. Williams was born in Cedartown, Georgia on April 9, 1922 to William Andrew Johnson and Alma Chitwood Johnson and was a lifelong resident of Cedartown until moving to South Carolina in 2013. 

She was a former member of the First Methodist Church in Cedartown.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Franklin Williams; 3 sisters; 5 brothers; and her grandson-in-law, Troy Madison Blood.  

Mrs. Williams is survived by one son, Alonzo “Lonnie” Williams and his wife, Joyce; one daughter, Judy Williams Brock and her husband, Rick; two granddaughters, Kathryn Williams Smith (John Potts) and Donna Williams Corley (Christopher); two great-granddaughters, Emily Catherine Smith and Lindsay Elizabeth Smith and their father, Mark Lindsay Smith; and one great-grandson, Madison William Blood Corley.  

A graveside service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, August 21, 2021 in the Greenwood Cemetery with her grandson-in-law officiating, Mr. Chris Corley. 

Due to current COVID-19 concerns, it is requested by the family that everyone attending the service to please wear a mask and observe social distancing.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers and anyone wishing to do so may make a donation in Catherine’s memory to: Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia, 922, E. Morris Street, Dalton, Georgia 30721.
