They’ll be working on the railroad, all the livelong day over the coming weeks in Rockmart and Cedartown as CSX rolls down the tracks for maintenance work.

CSX informed both the cities of Rockmart and Cedartown they’ll be rolling through the weeks of May 19 on the east side of the county, and the week of May 26 on the west side of the county.

Crossings will be closed in Rockmart first on South Marble Street, Plum Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive during next week’s crossing maintenance work.

Specific times and dates were not made available as of this posting.

Nor were they available for crossing work coming up in Cedartown on the week of May 26 (following Memorial Day.)

The city reported that those crossings will include Furnace Street, the crossing at Gibson/Jones Streets, South Main Street, Second Street and Thompson Street.
