Mr. Charles “Chuck” Warner

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Warner, age 64, of Cedartown, GA, formerly of Newton, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2024.

He grew up in Newton and Muscatine, Iowa, and Cedartown, Georgia. Mr. Warner graduated from Cedartown High School, where he participated in track and wrestling. He was of the Episcopal faith and served as an acolyte along with his brother, Dave, at St. James Episcopal Church in Cedartown.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school. After his military service, Mr. Warner worked for the HON Company and as a mechanic for Polk County. He also worked for the City of Cedartown. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed working on cars, growing roses, and reading.

Mr. Warner loved his family and his dogs, and he had a deep-rooted love for helping others. Our brother, father, and grandfather fought a war with his personal demons. He battled alcohol/drug addictions along with depression for several decades.

His demons changed him, which affected the ones that loved him. His family and friends will continue to miss the man he was and all he loved.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Judi Warner; brother, Dave Warner; and nephew, Gavin Warner. He is survived by his four sons, Chad Warner (Heather) of upstate New York, Sam Warner (Cami) of California, Joe Warner (Jessie) of upstate New York, and Mikey “Ivan” Warner (significant other, Meagan Anderson) of Savannah, GA; sister, Teri W. Canada (Kim); brother, Eric Warner (Lisa); sister-in-law, Jill B. Warner; and his four granddaughters, one niece; nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

A brief military graveside service will be officiated by Parks Turner and will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Cedartown. GA, Monday March 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made in Chuck’s memory to Grace Presbyterian Church, 120 W. John Hand Road, Cedartown, GA 30125, and to the Wounded Warriors Project.
