The Cedartown Kiwanis Club and Polk Family Connection have teamed up this month to help people in need get something very important in the colder months to come: socks.
That’s right, it’s Socktober for the club and the organization, both of who are seeking to help people of all ages have the footwear they need to make it through the winter and early spring when temperatures have turned colder, and the need for warmth around the ankles is paramount.
Socks of all sizes for all ages are needed, and those interested can make a donation of a pair or several at One Door Polk (the red drop box at the Fairmount Street entrance) along with at Jeff Truett State Farm, Peach State Ford, Ideal Bakery, the lobby of Polk Medical Center, Cedartown High School and Cherokee Elementary.
Kiwanis and Polk Family Connection is also gaining support in this effort from Cedartown High School’s Key Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
