The Play at Peek campaign just got a boost of $5,000 thanks to a local organization which made a contribution toward the new playground build coming up in March.

The Cedartown Exchange Club got out the big check and filled it in with a $5,000 donation for the Play at Peek fundraising effort. The donation will go toward helping to build the new playground at Peek Park after the one built through a community effort was brought down earlier this month.

Money raised for this donation was made possible thanks to entry fees at the Polk County Fair and other fundraisers put on throughout the year by the Cedartown Exchange Club.

Volunteers will still be needed for the building effort coming up in March in a variety of opportunities that doesn’t require putting in sweat equity. Check out the various roles that will be needed coming up at playatpeek.org.

The Cedartown Exchange Club meets Thursdays at 6 p.m. at the Cherokee Golf and Country Club outside of the months of May through September, when they meet at the Fairgrounds in preparation for the annual fair.
