A Polk School District school bus and another vehicle collided this afternoon on the Highway 27 Bypass in Cedartown, and no one was injured.

Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome and PSD Superintendent Dr. Katie Thomas both confirmed the wreck, but noted that no students were injured during the incident.

Newsome added the scene has already been cleared at the intersection of Cline Ingram Jackson Drive and the Highway 27 Bypass. He also reported it was a low speed wreck that occurred when a vehicle was attempting to pull out and speed up onto the Bypass and was struck in the rear by the bus.

No additional details were immediately available. It has not yet been confirmed with Dr. Thomas, but based on information available from Cedartown Police the students who were on the bus should be back on their way back to their destination at this time.

Edit to add: Dr. Thomas did update and say all students involved in the incident made it home safely.
